The hours dedicated by WCS volunteers epitomize our mission statement and core values. Calling All Kindergartners!

Warsaw Community Schools is now registering all Kindergarten students. Kindergarten Round up was held on February 28, 2013. If you were unable to attend this event, please visit your neighborhood school to register your student. Warsaw Community Schools provides a Full Day Kindergarten Program and with sufficient enrollment, will offer a Half Day Kindergarten Program. The deadline to register for Half Day Kindergarten is Friday, May 17, 2013. For more information please contact your local school or the central office at 574-371-5098.

ATTENTION PARENTS, STUDENTS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS

Parents, Students, and Community Members: The calendar committee has put together two calendar scenarios for the 2014-15 school year. They would like input from staff, parents, and community members as to which scenario is preferred. Next year’s calendar has already been approved by the board. This survey is requesting feedback about the following year.

It's hard to believe that May will be the last full month of school for the 2012-2013 school year. Time has really flown by as your children have matured and grown. I hope your children have had an enjoyable school year and that you have noticed the academic growth that they have made. Please note that the last day of school will be on Thursday, May 30th. Parents, thank you for your continued commitment and support of Leesburg Elementary School.

Track - Please remember to come out and support our 4th-6th grade track participants as our season is officially under way.

Registration: - Hopefully you have personally received your letter concerning on-line registration. Please take the time to go on-line and fill out your registration as soon as possible. Leesburg does have a computer set up in our office that is available during school hours if you need any help registering. If your work schedule does not allow you to register during these hours, please contact the school and we will be happy to schedule a time to assist you.

Leesburg PTO - Thank you for attending our annual spring carnival! IT seemed like the children had an enjoyable afternoon. Thank you to all the people who helped make this year's carnival a success! Your continual suport is appreciated. Thank you for making this school year a successful one. Have a great summer!! Leesburg would like to thank our PTO officers: JoAnne Williams (PTO President), Tiffany Frush (Vice President), Shelly Fraley (Treasurer) and Lisa Reber (Secretary) for their work and efforts. Parents, again, thank you for your continued support of Leesburg Elementary School.

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! We are looking forward to another eventful and productive year for students, staff, and parents.

Leesburg Elementary School located in the northern sections of Kosciusko County and serves students living in Plain Township. The school serves over 480 students in Kindergarten through sixth grade.

The current Leesburg building opened in the fall of 2010 as one of eight elementary schools in the district. The 98,000 square foot facility is completely handicapped accessible and is located on 66 acres that includes a woods and wetland area.

Educational programming for kindergarten through grade six students includes Reader's and Writer's Workshop instruction in Language Arts and differentiated math instruction in third-sixth grade. Title I and ESL services are offered to those students in need. Fall, winter, and spring sports are available to students in 4-6 grade. Leesburg's drama club has grown in popularity and a band/orchestra program is now being offered at Warsaw's middle schools for our sixth grade students. We are also proud to partner with Baker Youth Club as we are now offering an afterschool program, free of sharge, five days a week to our students from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Leesburg students and staff are privileged to have a large and loyal group of parent and community volunteers in addition to an active and supportive Parent Teacher Organization. The school, created by the community, enjoys an excellent relationship with Maple Leaf Farms, our business partner, and TCU Credit Union.
